Fixed Rescue Hoist Test Facility

Fixed Rescue Hoist Test Facilities (FHTF) are designed, engineered, manufactured, and uniquely customized to meet the maintenance level requirements of each customer according to their specific maintenance requirements and style of rescue hoist(s) the user is maintaining.

The purpose of the FHTF is to allow testing of the rescue hoist in the hanger and off the aircraft.

Available maintenance levels are for Intermediate and Depot levels.

Shown is a depot level facility.

The depot level FHTF allows off the aircraft  testing and maintenance on the rescue hoist.  It performs testing in accordance with the OEM’s requirement including a complete dynamic and static load clutch slip test.  In addition, intermediate maintenance can be performed such as changing the wire rope cable, replacing limit switches, replacing the control module and making adjustments, limbering of the cable, and performing trouble shooting on the hoists while tensioning, cleaning, lubricating, drying and examining the hoist cable.

The intermediate level FHTF allows off the aircraft maintenance such as changing the wire rope cable, replacing limit switches, replacing the control module and making adjustments, limbering of the cable, and performing trouble shooting on the hoists.

Shown is an intermediate level facility.

When FHTF is used in conjunction with the Mobile Ground Support Equipment it provides the capability to operate the rescue hoist off the aircraft in order to perform intermediate level maintenance and troubleshooting while tensioning, cleaning, lubricating, drying and examining the cable. All this can be accomplished by one trained person.
